Looking to try some delicious food, improve your cooking skills, and learn the process behind making some of your favourite dishes from around the globe? Reliance has you covered, with 'Learn to Cook like Pro', to be held from the 13th of October to the 15th of December!

Join us as we bring you an array of tantalising flavours from five different and beloved cuisines: Malay, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, and Western. No matter which course you select, these classes will provide the perfect foundation you need to sharpen your culinary skills.

Classes will be held in-person at the Reliance College state-of-the-art Training Kitchen, with a cohort of talented chefs to guide you through all the steps and tricks needed to make mouth-watering, and mind-meltingly mesmerizing food.

An online session about the basics of cooking each cuisine will also be provided as part of these courses in addition to four face-to-face sessions, in which participants will get to cook an appetizer and a few entrees from said cuisine.

Upon completing these introductory courses with us, you will be awarded a Beginners Level Certificate from Reliance College in the respective cuisine.

In our first course, we’ll be exploring the essentials of Malay cuisine, known for its vibrant and diverse flavors, eclectic influences, and rich history. It's the traditional food of the ethnic Malays, who reside in different regions of Southeast Asia, including modern-day Malaysia.

Malay cooking utilizes a blend of aromatic herbs and spices, local ingredients, and both traditional and modern methods of cooking to create a sublime balance of sweet, savoury, and spicy flavours.

Some dishes that you will be learning throughout this course include: Ayam Masak Merah, a typically home-cooked dish which consists of fried chicken braised in a tomato, onion, and sambal (dried chili paste) sauce; Nasi Kerabu, a staple of Malay cuisine, with its signature blue rice, served with various vegetables, and keropok; and Otak-otak, a cake made of ground fish paste and spices, cooked in fragrant banana leaves.

'Learn to Cook like a Pro' will make the experience of learning how to cook accessible and affordable for all, at just RM550 per course, and RM150 per session. Stay tuned for more menus and sessions to be announced!
